'Painting with Oil' is a great class for students who wish to learn to paint as the old masters painted, using darks and lights.  Dr. Dale Gauvin offers this unique approach to the study of oils.  The class meets at the Art and Design Center, 17 First Street, Ft. Free dance workshops for the FWBHS spring production of Hairspray  are offered every Friday  starting September 2 from 2:30-4:30 in the FWBHS Auditorium, 400 Hollywood Blvd. , Ft. “Hometown History Saturdays-The City of Fort Walton Beach Heritage Park and Cultural Center (HPCC) announces the start of “Hometown History Saturdays.” On the first Saturday of each month visitors who can show a valid drivers license with a Fort Walton Beach address will receive admission at a reduced rate of $3.00 for adults and $2.00 for children.   The museums of HPCC include the Indian Temple Mound Museum which is open on Saturdays from 10:00am to 4:30pm; the Camp Walton Schoolhouse and the Garnier Post Office Museums which are open on Saturdays from 1:00-3:00pm.  This reduced admission is paid at the Indian Temple Mound Museum and will allow entrance to all three museums.  The reduced rate will not apply to educational programs taking place on Saturdays.   Heritage Park and Cultural Center is located at 139 SE Miracle Strip Parkway and is open 6 days a week.  For current hours or additional information please contact museum staff at 850.833.9595.  www.fwb.org

Raasch Workshop -  ( February 13-15 )  -Jef Raasch of Milwaukee , Wisconsin , will present a workshop on Sculpting from Life, at the Arts and Design Society’s (ADSO) Art Center Studio, February 13, 14, and 15.  Raasch is a ceramic sculptor known for his work using animals and the human form as his subject matter. This workshop will demonstrate various hand-building techniques, exploring textures and scale. Beginners, intermediate and advanced students will have fun finding new challenges and insights working with clay. The Doo-Wah Riders- will be at the Ft.
